SAFE Blueprint proposes changes to laws addressing SA on campuses
Kristen Lombardi wrote a blog followup post to the original reports regarding the epidemic of inadequate, traumatic responses to sexual assault on college campuses that shares some potential good news. A few groups have created a draft to help improve college campuses – by making them safer and holding schools accountable.
Lombardi writes, “Dubbed the “Campus Sexual Assault Free Environment (SAFE) Blueprint,” the draft outlines nearly two dozen proposed “improvements” to Clery and Title IX — everything from requiring schools to implement a comprehensive process for adjudicating these cases to guaranteeing victim accommodations and mandating prevention education.” S. Daniel Carter worked with many, including RAINN and SAFER. I am honoured to be among the people to contribute to this draft by working with Security On Campus though SAFER.
I think this is just one of many ways we can work together to make sure that situations like I’ve gone through at Tufts (and many others at other universities) doesn’t happen again. The draft would increase transparency in disciplinary proceedings, mandatory prevention education, and annual explicit notification of the sexual assault policy.
I recommend you read the blog at the Center for Public Integrity. It gives a nice overview of the suggested improvements that would make me extremely excited if passed into law.

I heard about this. It is really fucking infuriating that people still treat other human beings this way. There's really no excuse.
